Passenger Terminals of Miami International Airport

MIA is designed as a U-shaped layout. You will find the parking inside the “U” as well as the departure concourses on the outside.The airport features 1 large terminal building which is split into 3 terminals North, Central, and South Terminal. All terminals are interconnected by moving walkways found on Level 3.Each terminal has arrivals and baggage claim and sits on Level 1. The departures and ticketing area is located at Level 2.

North Terminal (Concourse D)

North terminal also known as Concourse D has 50 gates. This terminal serves both international and domestic flights.The Sky Train, a major inter-terminal transportation option, runs approximately 1 mile along the length of the concourse. You will find 4 stations along its route.There are 4 security checkpoints, 3 ticketing areas, and 1 small checkpoint between the North Terminal and Concourse D.

Passing this checkpoint, passengers can walk through a connecting bridge to reach the safety of Concourse E.This concourse is also the home of several branded shops, and restaurants, as well as an XpressSpa. so passengers cannot be bored while waiting at the terminal for the flight, It has two lounges named The Centurion Lounge, and 2 Admirals Club.

Central Terminal (Concourse E, F, and G)

South Terminal (Concourse H and J)

The Central Terminal has three Concourses, named E, F, and G, that sit at the bottom end of the U-shape. you will find several shops and restaurants inside the secure area of each concourse.

Concourses E and F are used for operating international and domestic flights; whereas, Concourse G serves only domestic flights.Concourse E is connected with 18 gates, located in a satellite building which can be accessed via a walkway or a train. This concourse is inter-connected with Concourse D via a connector bridge opposite gate E2.

Concourse F consists of 19 gates which can be reached from the security checkpoint within a 3- to 5-minute walking distanceConcourse G features 14 gates which are accessible by 3 to 5 minutes walking from the security checkpoint.

South Terminal (Concourse H and J)

The South Terminal can be directly accessed by Concourses H and J which are used to operate both international and domestic flights.Passengers can move between these 2 concourses via a connecting walkway. These concourses have several shops and restaurants, situated on both concourses. Concourse H consists of 17 gates whereas Concourse J has 15 gates.

Global Entry

Miami International Airport consists of dedicated Global Entry kiosks that can be used by eligible passengers who have enrolled in the program. This airport participates in this program. The Global Entry Enrollment Center is situated on the second level of the Concourse J. The Enrollment Center is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. Approved applicants need to organize an interview in the Enrollment Center.

Miami International Airport also features dedicated TSA PreCheck lanes located at some security checkpoints.The conditionally approved applicant needs to contact with TSA Enrollment Center for an interview.
